The District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) reviewed the implementation of Central government schemes in Erode district at a meeting chaired by Erode MP K.E. Prakash on Wednesday (July 8, 2026).The committee reviewed the progress of flagship schemes to ensure timely implementation, proper utilisation of funds, and effective monitoring by elected representatives.Officials said employment had been provided to 43,942 of the 1,83,819 households registered under the rural employment scheme. The committee also reviewed works such as cement concrete roads, pond creation and desilting, school compound walls, tree plantation, road projects, women’s self-help groups, bank credit linkage and skill development.Progress under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana and the Jal Jeevan Mission was reviewed, along with the status of rural drinking water connections. It also reviewed the implementation of schemes in various departments. Officials presented action reports on decisions taken at the previous meeting held on February 23. Mr. Prakash directed officials to ensure timely completion of ongoing projects and effective delivery of welfare schemes to all eligible beneficiaries.Five Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam MLAs, including two Ministers – K.A.
