Brown Mogotsi to remain behind bars as case postponed for consultation.

Controversial North West businessman and alleged political fixer Brown Mogotsi will spend more nights behind bars after his case was postponed to August 3, 2026, to allow his legal team to consult on video footage that allegedly shows him firing shots at his own vehicle.

Mogotsi made a brief appearance in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on Wednesday for the setting of a trial date after being denied bail twice over allegations that he staged an assassination attempt on himself.

He faces charges of perjury, defeating the ends of justice, unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, and discharging a firearm in a public place.

The charges stem from allegations that he orchestrated his own attempted assassination in Vosloorus in November 2025.
