Heavy rain lashes Thrissur on July 5, 2026.

A yellow alert has been issued for 11 districts except Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, and Pathanamthitta in the State on Wednesday (July 8, 2026), warning of isolated heavy rains.According to a weather bulletin issued by the India Meteorological department (IMD) on Tuesday (July 7, 2026), the depression over north Chhattisgarh and adjoining areas of southeast Uttar Pradesh and northeast Madhya Pradesh has weakened into a well-marked low-pressure. The associated cyclonic circulation is also likely to weaken during the next 24 hours. However, an off-shore trough runs from south Gujarat to central Kerala at mean sea level. Under the combined influence of the systems, the rainfall activity will continue to remain in the State for the next four days, though not vigorous. Published - July 07, 2026 08:20 pm IST
