The National Freedom Party's provincial chairperson Mbali Shinga has again been fired from the party after she allegedly walked away from the appeal.

The National Freedom Party (NFP) has again fired its KwaZulu-Natal chairperson, Mbali Shinga, who is the party’s sole MPL at the provincial Legislature, after she allegedly refused to appear before the internal appeal structure.

Shinga resumed her role as the Social Development MEC and MPL after the Pietermaritzburg High Court ruled in mid-June that her expulsion from the party and replacement as the MPL should be parked pending her appeal against the expulsion.

She, who was fired from the party on April 19 after she was internally found guilty of defying the party’s instructions, had approached the court on an urgent basis after hearing that provincial Legislature Nontembeko Boyce was preparing to swear in her replacement.

NFP Secretary-General Sunset Xaba said on Tuesday that the party’s National Working Committee (NWC)’s decision was in line with Judge Namhla Thina Siwendu, as appeal processes have concluded.
