Mbali Shinga, the National Freedom Party's provincial chairperson, is set to challenge her expulsion in the High Court, claiming unfair treatment in the disciplinary process.

The National Freedom Party (NFP) provincial chairperson, Mbali Shinga, has announced her intention to challenge her latest dismissal through a High Court application.

Her dismissal for the second time this year was made known by the party on Tuesday after she allegedly failed to appear before its internal appeal structure.

Shinga was ejected in April but approached the Pietermaritzburg High Court, which ruled that her expulsion from the party and replacement as KwaZulu-Natal's Social Development MEC must be halted until her appeal against the expulsion was concluded.

Her intention to challenge the termination was confirmed by her lawyer, Sthembiso Mbhele, as she claimed the decision was executed unfairly.
