NFP President Ivan Barnes and Mbali Shinga are still facing a legal battle to keep her position as the party's MPL.
Embattled KwaZulu-Natal National Freedom Party (NFP) chairperson Mbali Shinga’s lawyers and provincial legislature are exchanging correspondence following her expulsion again this week from the party despite a Pietermaritzburg High Court interdict.
Speaker Nontembeko Boyce said the NFP leadership, led by the party’s president, Ivan Barnes informed the legislature that it has again fired Shinga.
According to the party, its National Working Committee (NWC), which handled Shinga’s appeal, ruled in favour of her expulsion after she refused to comply.
“We are now in the process of putting the directives of the court order into effect,” Boyce said without elaborating.
