No fewer than 32 people were killed and several others injured in separate road crashes across Kwara, Kogi and Ogun states, with the Federal Road Safety Corps attributing the tragedies to driver fatigue, excessive speeding, wrongful overtaking and other traffic violations.

PUNCH Metro gathered that 15 persons were killed, while 17 others sustained varying degrees of injuries after a lone trailer crash along the Ogbomoso-Oko Olowo section of the Ilorin-Jebba Expressway in Kwara State.

The fatal accident occurred in the early hours of Monday at the Muslim Cemetery area, Oko Olowo, in the Moro Local Government Area of the state.

According to the Federal Road Safety Corps, the crash happened at about 2:32 a.m. and involved a DAF XF trailer with registration number GWL 274 XC.

The FRSC disclosed that a total of 48 male occupants were involved in the accident, out of which 15 died at the scene and 17 sustained injuries, while 16 escaped unhurt.
