No fewer than four persons were killed while five others sustained varying degrees of injuries in separate road crashes recorded in Ogun and Lagos states on Wednesday.

The crashes, according to the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency and the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, were caused by route violation and excessive speeding.

In Ogun State, three persons died and three others were injured in a head-on collision involving a Mercedes-Benz truck and a crane along the Sagamu-Benin Expressway, a few metres before the Babcock University Junction in Ikenne.

The spokesperson for TRACE, Babatunde Akinbiyi, in a statement on Wednesday, said the crash occurred at about 5 am and involved a white Mercedes-Benz truck with registration number LG 59 BLF and a yellow crane without a registration number.
