The Federal Road Safety Corps has cautioned motorists against route violations following a fatal road accident along the New Mile 3 axis of the Gombe–Yola Federal Highway in Gombe State which claimed the lives of two persons, including a policewoman.
The Sector Commander of the FRSC in the state, Samson Kaura, said the crash was caused by a trailer driver who violated traffic regulations after loading some litres of fuel at AA Rano Filling Station.
“It was caused by a trailer who took fuel at Rano filling station. Instead of taking the right route, he did route violation. He lost control,” Kaura said.
Our correspondent learnt that the accident, which occurred at about 11:30am on Wednesday, involved a DAF truck with registration number XH 122 GME, three motorcycles, pedestrians and nearby shops.
