POWEROAD has received China’s first pilot Battery Passport issued by Bureau Veritas through the Circulor platform, marking an early step toward Digital Battery Passport implementation under the EU Battery Regulation and toward improved battery lifecycle transparency.

POWEROAD has received China’s first pilot Battery Passport issued by Bureau Veritas (BV) through the Circulor platform. The passport was presented during ees Europe 2026 in Munich and marks an early implementation of Digital Battery Passport requirements as the battery industry prepares for the EU Battery Regulation.

The EU Battery Regulation will introduce Digital Battery Passports for eligible batteries placed on the European market. The passport is intended to improve transparency and traceability by providing verified lifecycle information, including manufacturing data, carbon footprint, material sourcing, and end-of-life management. Pilot projects such as this enable manufacturers to validate the data collection, verification, and reporting processes required for future regulatory compliance.

Chris Baird, CPS Sales & Marketing Vice President at Bureau Veritas, said the milestone demonstrates how verified data can strengthen transparency and traceability across the battery value chain while helping manufacturers prepare for evolving regulatory requirements.
