Celebrations after victory being reached at the ConCourt's judgment.
GOOD Party mayoral candidate Brett Herron has accused the City of Cape Town of failing to fulfil its responsibility to deliver affordable housing.
Following the recent Constitutional Court ruling on the long-running Tafelberg School site dispute, Herron expressed concern in a statement on Sunday that the city's response reflects a lack of accountability and disregards years of delays in addressing spatial inequality in the region.
Herron said the ruling had renewed focus on promises made nearly a decade ago.
He recalled that, in July 2017, while serving as the City of Cape Town's Mayoral Committee member for Transport and Urban Development, he announced the identification of 10 city-owned sites in the inner city, Salt River and Woodstock "to be used for affordable housing".
