SYRIZA has scheduled a meeting of its central committee next weekend, but several of its members, including lawmakers, keep quitting.
MP Giorgos Karameros was the latest defection, announcing Saturday that he is resigning his seat to join Greek Left Alliance (ELAS), the new party founded by former SYRIZA leader and former prime minister Alexis Tsipras.
Tsipras has said any SYRIZA MP who wants to join his party must resign their seat first. He has also said that acceptance into the party will be made on a case-by-case basis.
