After starting the first two pool games, Junior Springbok centre Markus Muller will play off the bench in the final clash against Wales on Tuesday.
Junior Springbok flyhalf Yaqeen Ahmed will get his first taste of action at the Junior World Championship after being named in the starting XV for Tuesday’s third pool clash against Wales.
Ahmed, who last featured for the South Africa ‘A’ side before picking up a red card, is one of six changes to the starting team for the decisive encounter, with top spot in the pool on the line for the men of Kevin Foote.
Following two bonus-point wins and holding a healthy points difference, the Junior Boks are well placed to finish as the top-ranked side heading into the knockout stages. However, they will first have to overcome a determined Welsh outfit in Tbilisi.
Ahmed is one of four changes in the backline, while coach Kevin Foote has recalled two loose forwards to bolster the pack for what is expected to be another physical battle. The Junior Boks were given a stern examination by hosts Georgia, with Ahmed replacing flyhalf Luan Giliomee after he suffered a concussion. Giliomee will now go through the return-to-play protocols.
