As a part of the State-wide search operations by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, raids were conducted in the municipal and panchayat offices in many southern districts on Friday.Police said that the officials led by DSP Nagarajan seized unaccounted cash of ₹52,900 from the office of the special grade panchayat office in Thadicombu in Dindigul district. The officers stepped in at around 4 p.m. and concluded by around 7.30 p.m. Till the checks were on, public were not allowed and phone usage was restricted.A senior officer said that they found a sum of ₹one lakh was credited into the account of a temporary staff. Investigations were going on.Similarly, raids were on at Karaikudi Corporation office and at the Municipal office in Ramanathapuram Town.
