A 14-year-old boy riding a motorcycle was killed in a road accident on the Anna Nagar link road in Tiruchi in the early hours of Friday (July 3, 2026). A 16-year-old boy, who was on the pillion, sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment.The police identified the deceased as N. Mohammed Kaisar, who was a Class IX student and a resident of Marsingpet in the city. The injured teenager, S. Ravikumar, sustained a fracture to his left hand in the accident.Police sources said Mohamed Kaisar was riding the motorcycle, with his friend Ravikumar on the pillion, in a rash and negligent manner and dashed into a side cement wall along the Anna Nagar link road at around 4.40 a.m. Mohamed Kaiser sustained severe injuries on his head, face, and left hand, while Ravikumar sustained a fracture to his left hand, the sources said. Both were taken to the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital for treatment. Mohamed Kaisar succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment. The Traffic South Investigation wing has registered a case under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Sections 281 (rash driving or riding on a public way), 125 (a) (act endangering life or personal safety of others), 106 (1) (causing death by negligence) read with section 199(A) of the Motor Vehicles Act.
