Passengers arriving at Terminal 2 of Sofia’s Vasil Levski Airport will now have to follow a new, structured procedure when ordering taxi services, introduced by the airport’s official taxi operator.

Under the new system, travelers must first go to a designated Yellow desk located after the arrivals area. There, they can request a taxi using a kiosk device and receive a printed ticket for their journey.

After obtaining the ticket, passengers are required to proceed to Exit 5, marked clearly with a “Taxi” sign. At this point, a coordinator from the service provider will assign them to an available vehicle in the queue.

The company responsible for the service, YellowTaxi, explained that the new organization aims to ensure safer transport by using only verified and licensed drivers, while also limiting the activity of unofficial and unregulated taxi operators commonly referred to as “coppers.”

“The purpose of the new system is to guarantee secure service through licensed drivers and to eliminate illegal taxi activity,” the operator stated, as cited by Boulevard Bulgaria.
