The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), together with other components of the Defense Forces, struck the Nizhny Novgorod Oil Refinery and the Starolikeyevo oil pumping station in the city of Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod region of Russia.

According to Ukrinform, the SSU announced the operation on its website.

"Fulfilling the tasks set by President Volodymyr Zelensky as part of the 40-day operation to exert pressure on the Russian Federation, the SSU, together with the Special Operations Forces, the Unmanned Systems Forces, and the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (HUR), carried out a successful strike on the Nizhny Novgorod Oil Refinery and the Starolikeyevo Line Production and Dispatch Station (LPDS) in the city of Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod region of the Russian Federation. The target was located 850 kilometers away," the SSU said.

The agency noted that Russian air defenses were highly active in the area overnight, after which a series of explosions was heard near the Nizhny Novgorod refinery and the Starolikeyevo LPDS. At least two fires were recorded in the industrial zone of the targeted facilities.
