Dina Pule has been appointed the new Social Development minister.

The ANC has praised President Cyril Ramaphosa for reinstating Dina Pule as the new Social Development minister, 13 years after her dismissal by former president Jacob Zuma due to unethical conduct.

Ramaphosa's announcement came during a Cabinet reshuffle on Tuesday.

Pule is replacing Sisisi Tolashe, whom Ramaphosa fired from the same department on May 14 for various unethical behaviour, including failure to disclose two luxury cars donated to the ANC Women's League, which were allegedly registered in her children's names.

Ramaphosa’s reshuffle also saw the DA's Willem Aucamp becoming the Agriculture minister and David Maynier as Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment minister.
