Action would be taken to prevent pollution in waterbodies, including the Tamirabharani river and the Rameswaram Agni Theertham sea, stated Minister for Environment and Climate Change V. K. Rajeev.Speaking to reporters after inaugurating hospital and government primary health centre buildings in Ramanathapuram district, Mr. Rajeev stated that the non-issuance of granting caste certificates for the Kattu Nayakkan community in Ramanathapuram district has been taken to the attention of the Revenue minister.He assured that an action will be taken soon by appointing a special Tehsildar.“Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay has directed to take action to control industrial pollution. We are going to bring a major change to the solid waste management project,” he informed.On a question regarding the dumping and burning of waste in open areas, he answered that an investigation would be conducted, and action would be taken regarding the environmental impact caused by smoke from the Ramanathapuram municipal garbage dump in Pattanamkathan, which has been burning for several days.Mr. Rajeev noted that the Minister for Non-Resident Tamils Welfare K.
