A resident of Kadiivka in Luhansk region, who fought as part of the aggressor's army, has been sentenced in absentia to life imprisonment for state treason.
According to Ukrinform, the Security Service of Ukraine's office in Cherkasy region stated this on Facebook.
"Based on the evidence gathered by the Security Service, another traitor who fought against the Defense Forces in Luhansk region as part of Russian armed groups has received life imprisonment with confiscation of property in absentia. According to the investigation, the 51-year-old resident of Kadiivka has taken part in hostilities against ATO/JFO forces since 2014," the statement said.
It is noted that after the start of the full-scale war, the man became part of the "6th Separate Motor Rifle Regiment" of the 2nd Army Corps of Russia's Southern Military District. As commander of a mortar unit, he assaulted several settlements in the Luhansk region.
