A schoolteacher who helped direct Russian drone strikes against Ukrainian defenders in Kherson has been sentenced to life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
That is according to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Ukrinform reports.
The woman was acting on behalf of Russian military intelligence, commonly known as the GRU. The SBU exposed her activities in October 2024.
Investigators found that the teacher used a messaging app to pass the coordinates of Ukrainian military positions to a GRU contact. He was identified as the commander of a UAV operators' unit within the 186th Reconnaissance Battalion of the Russian military group codenamed "Dnepr."
The woman first came to the attention of Russian intelligence services after posting pro-Kremlin comments in Telegram channel chats.
