A 24-year-old tattoo artist was stabbed to death by his father during a drunken altercation at their residence in Kancheepuram on Monday night.The deceased was identified as E. Rupesh. His father, Elumalai, 50, a garland maker residing on Arapperumselvi Street in Kancheepuram, sustained injuries during the incident and is undergoing treatment at the Kancheepuram District Government Hospital under police custody.According to the police, both father and son had allegedly consumed alcohol before an argument broke out between them at home. Investigators said Rupesh allegedly went inside the house during the quarrel, picked up a pair of scissors and attacked his father, who was outside the house. Elumalai allegedly overpowered his son, seized the scissors and stabbed him several times.Residents of the neighbourhood alerted emergency services, and both men were taken to the Kancheepuram District Government Hospital by ambulance. Doctors declared that Rupesh was brought dead, while Elumalai was admitted for treatment.
