A 23-year-old youth, K. Manikandan, of Muthusamypuram was stabbed to death by two of his neighbours, T. Manickam (21) and S. Eswaran (19) following a quarrel, on Thursday evening.Relatives of the deceased complained that failure on part of Seithur police in acting on a complaint lodged by the aunt of the deceased had led to the murder.Kaliraj, father of Manikandan has given a petition to Rajapalayam Deputy Superintendent of Police demanding action against the Inspector of Police, Guruvathai, for not taking action on the earlier complaint.The police said that Muthumari, aunt of Manikandan had scolded the accused for consuming liquor near her house. This led to a scuffle on Wednesday.Consequently, Muthumari lodged a complaint with the Seithur police on Thursday morning. Meanwhile, the accused stabbed Manikandan while he was at his shop on Thursday evening.He was rushed to the Government Hospital in Rajapalayam. Later, he was admitted to a private hospital, where he succumbed to injuries.After the police officials promised to take action after enquiry, the relatives took the body from the hospital.The police have arrested both the accused.
