More than 300 college students participated in the “Namakku Vendam – Drug-Free Kovai” drug awareness rally and pledge campaign organised by Young Indians (Yi) Coimbatore under the aegis of the Confederation of Indian Industry at Race Course in Coimbatore on Tuesday.The programme, organised by the Yi Health and Yi Yuva verticals, was aimed at supporting efforts to create a drug-free Coimbatore through awareness and youth participation.Singanallur MLA K.S. Sri Giriprasath and Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) P. Thangadurai took part in the event. Students carried placards with anti-drug messages during the rally and later took a pledge to stay away from drugs and spread awareness in their colleges and communities.The event also included awareness performances and prize distribution for a drug awareness poster competition.
