After 11 days of searching, hoping, and refusing to give up, Pepper was finally reunited with his dad, Erwin.
The remarkable story of an 11-day search for a missing terrier on Table Mountain has come to light.
Pepper, a cherished family terrier, disappeared on Sunday, June 15, after being chased into the Parks area above Oudekraal on Table Mountain.
Erwin Clarence was walking Pepper when another dog charged at them, causing the terrier to run into the mountain bush. His daughter, Nicole, later recalled the phone call from her father informing her of Pepper's disappearance.
"My dad had been walking with Pepper on the mountain, as they had done so many times before. Then, in an instant, another dog ran towards Pepper and chased him out of sight. When the phone rang, and I heard those words, my stomach dropped," Nicole said.
