Move over, influencers. For nearly two weeks, Cape Town's biggest celebrity was a four-legged Fox Terrier named Pepper.
Pepper sparked an extraordinary community search after vanishing on Table Mountain, with hundreds of volunteers refusing to give up until the adventurous pup was finally rescued from a cliffside ledge.
What started as a routine walk on Sunday, June 14, ended in heartbreak when Pepper disappeared near Kasteelspoort Ravine after being startled by other dogs along the Pipe Track.
His owner, Stellenbosch resident Erwin Moses, immediately began searching the mountain. He would not stop for eleven days.
