A 39-year-old man died Tuesday morning when he fell from the balcony of a third-floor apartment in Thessaloniki, police said.

According to information from thestival.gr, the incident occurred at approximately 7:15 a.m. in an apartment building on Filippou Street, at the center of the northern port city.

A doctor who arrived with an ambulance crew pronounced him dead at the scene.

Authorities are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the fall.
