The deadline expires Tuesday for building administrators or owners to formally register elevators on their properties with authorities or face fines of up to €5,000.
A previous November 2025 deadline was initially moved on to allow better compliance, but authorities have ruled out any further extension.
All administrators or owners of buildings containing elevators are required to register them online on the elevator.mindev.gov.gr platform.
Failure to do so will lead to fines of €1,000 for residential buildings, €2,500 for businesses and €5,000 for buildings accessible to the general public.
Registration is obligatory, even for elevators that have already been entered on some other official register.
