Businessman Shaun Roos faces serious bribery charges.
Construction boss, Shaun Roos who is accused of bribing City manager Lungelo Mbandazayo, with R1.4 million to influence tender outcomes and halt investigations into his company says the state's case is based on an unlawful entrapment operation initiated after false allegations was made by a former employee who claimed to be his half-sister.
Roos said the same staff member herself is facing serious criminal charges.
Roos made this bold statement during an affidavit submitted to court during his bail application.
Roos has since been denied bail and is accused of allegedly attempting to influence the investigation linked to municipal contracts awarded to his company, Triple C Maintenance and Services.
