MANILA, Philippines — Three Filipino archbishops received the pallium from Pope Leo XIV in a Mass at the Vatican on Monday, June 29, marking their role as metropolitan archbishops of the archdioceses of Cebu, Cotabato, and Nueva Segovia.
Made of white wool, the pallium is a liturgical vestment worn over the shoulders by metropolitan archbishops when celebrating Mass. Marked with six black silk crosses and fastened with three pins, it signifies their pastoral ministry, communion with the pope, and their mission as shepherds of the people in their respective ecclesiastical provinces.
