The strike on the Slovyansk oil refinery in Krasnodar region was carried out as part of a 40-day operation of pressure on Russia by fighters from the Alpha special operations center of the Security Service of Ukraine together with the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, and other components of Ukraine's Defense Forces.

The Slavyansk-EKO LLC is located in the city of Slavyansk-on-Kuban, more than 300 km from Ukraine's state border. The enterprise specializes in the production of a wide range of petroleum products: gasoline, fuel oil, and marine fuel.
The SSU noted that this is a key specialized enterprise in the region, and it is also an important exporter through Black Sea ports.
As a result of the attack by Ukrainian drones, a fire was recorded in the area of the oil tank farm, the petroleum products storage area, and the primary oil refining unit.
