HSL and Uber have launched a three-month pilot that links ride-hailing with public transport in parts of Helsinki and Vantaa, as the regional transport authority tests new ways to improve access to bus and rail services.
The trial began on 26 June in Itä-Pakila and Postipuisto in Helsinki and Ylästö in Vantaa.
Under the scheme, passengers can book an Uber journey between their home and a designated public transport stop or station for a fixed price of €5.
The service is designed to improve first and last-mile connections by combining private transport with HSL's trunk bus and rail network.
