Altogether, the Waltti app is used in 17 cities, including Turku, Lahti, Jyväskylä and Mikkeli.Kuopio City Public Transport (Vilkku) said that the fault was reported at around 8 am, adding that it might take a couple of hours to fix. Customers were informed of the disruption via a notification in the app, but there was no mention of it on the Vilkku website as of midday, nor on the Waltti site.The issue only affects the mobile app. Payments by cash, debit card or travel card should work normally.Problems with the HSL application in the Helsinki region began on Wednesday, when customers were informed of the disruption via a notification in the app."A payment issue affecting the HSL app was identified on the morning of 22 July 2026, and is still ongoing," the company announced on Thursday morning."Due to the issue, it is currently not possible to pay using MobilePay, by charging the payment to your phone bill, or using commuter benefits. Card payments are working normally. You can also buy tickets using contactless payment at card readers," it said.At 2.30pm, HSL updated its Finnish site, saying that the previous glitch in the HSL app had been mostly fixed but that Epassi payments were still not working."Efforts are being made to fix the problem as soon as possible. The problems with tickets paid for with MobilePay and in connection with a phone bill have been fixed. Reserves from failed purchase attempts are automatically refunded.
