HSL and Uber have launched a three-month pilot that links ride-hailing with public transport in parts of Helsinki and Vantaa, as the regional transport authority tests new ways to improve access to bus and rail services. The trial began on 26 June in Itä-Pakila and Postipuisto in Helsinki and Ylästö in Vantaa. Under the scheme, passengers can book an Uber journey between their home and a designated public transport stop or station for a fixed price of €5.

HSL and Uber are testing cooperation in three areas. A five-euro Uber ride can be used on three HSL trunk lines in Helsinki and Vantaa.
