Nearly 60% of Poles oppose Ukraine joining the European Union, according to a new poll conducted by the IBRiS research institute for Radio ZET. The survey found that 59.7% of respondents do not support Ukraine’s accession to the EU. Meanwhile, 35.4% of respondents supported Ukraine’s EU membership, including 8.4% who answered “definitely yes” and 26.9% who said “rather yes.” Another 5% said they had no opinion. Support for Ukraine‘s accession was significantly higher among voters of parties in Poland’s governing coalition. According to the poll, 64% of supporters of “Civic Platform,” “The Left,” the “Polish People’s Party” and “Poland 2050” backed Ukraine joining the EU, while 32% opposed it. Among voters supporting opposition parties, namely the “Law and Justice,” “Liberty and Independence,” “Confederation of the Polish Crown” and the “Together Party”– only 24% supported Ukraine’s EU membership, while 73% opposed it. The nationwide survey was conducted by IBRiS using computer-assisted telephone interviews (CATI) on June 12-13, 2026, among a representative sample of 1,068 respondents.
