Khayelitsha Library.

The Khayelitsha Site B library has officially reopened, marking a fresh chapter for the local community.

After a period of renovation that began in October 2025, the facility has been completely revitalised, featuring a new roof and ceiling, fresh paint, updated flooring, and modern electrical and network systems.

Mayor Hill-Lewis shared his enthusiasm for the project’s completion: “I am so pleased to be here today for the opening of the new, improved Khayelitsha library. I hope this library is a blessing to the community for many years to come, and that many children and residents will use it to check out books, or as a quiet place to study, listen to music, and just as a wonderful community space.”

The renovation, which cost approximately R3.1 million, is about more than just infrastructure.
