The body of a 35-year-old woman was found in Scottsdene Kraaifontein after she had been shot and killed.
Scottsdene residents woke to a chilling and sad scene on Thursday morning after the body of a 35-year-old woman was found lying on the pavement following a shooting.
Police have yet to confirm the motive behind the attack. A video of the crime scene was shared on social media, showing the woman’s body being covered with a blanket as passersby looked on in shock.
Police spokesperson, Constable Ndakhe Gwala explained: “Kraaifontein police opened a case of murder following a shooting that claimed the life of a 35-year-old female at the corner of Boesak and Botfontein Road, Kraaifontein this morning, June 25.
“The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation and the motive is yet to be determined. Anyone with information about the incident is kindly requested to contact Crime Stop anonymously on 08600 10111.” In the latest quarterly crime statistics, murder and rape cases in Kraaifontein declined between January 1 and March 31, 2026 ,compared with the same period last year.
