The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) has suspended the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) licence of Zayaka Food Court in Kondapur and ordered the establishment to remain closed until further notice after food safety officials detected serious hygiene and food safety violations during an inspection.Officials directed the food business operator not to resume operations until all deficiencies are rectified, a fresh inspection is conducted and the suspension of the licence is revoked.The inspection revealed food stored in a non-functional freezer, stale chicken biryani and spoiled vegetables kept in cold storage, and egg mayonnaise stored under unsuitable conditions. The team also found a severe rodent infestation, with rat burrows, rodent damage to food packaging and rat droppings in raw material and packaging storage areas. Improper segregation of food items was observed.The action was part of a series of inspections carried out by CMC Food Safety teams at food establishments across the Municipal limits on Wednesday (June 24, 2026).
