Thousands of clothes made for the sportswear giant Under Armour are expected to be seized by US border guards, in response to an investigation by The i Paper which revealed suicides of sweatshop workers making the garments.

This week, US Customs and Border Patrol has banned imports from two Jordanian factories run by the Needle Craft group, one of Under Armour’s biggest suppliers, after confirming our findings from 2024.

This newspaper exposed how migrant labourers served “dehumanising” 16-hour days. They were paid less than promised and fined for not meeting excessive targets.
