He made five more appearances for Madrid, scoring his first goal in a 2-1 win over Mallorca in May last year, before joining Como last summer for €2.5million (£2.2m; $2.8m). Madrid retain a 50 per cent sell-on clause in any future deal for the defender as well as a buy-back clause.Ramon played under new Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso in 2018-19 when the former Spain midfielder began his coaching career with Madrid’s youth system.Chelsea are looking to add a centre-back in this window, with Trevoh Chalobah subject to enquiries from teams in England and abroad, though the club hold him in high regard and are in no rush to sell him. The futures of Wesley Fofana, Benoit Badiashile, Tosin Adarabioyo and Mamadou Sarr could depend on the arrival of a new central defender and whether they would be content to drop down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge. There is also interest from elsewhere in right-back Malo Gusto, though Chelsea are not looking to sell the France international, who they value around £75m.Jun 24, 2026Connections: Sports EditionSpot the pattern.
