Key Facts
—The opening. São Paulo opens the first six stations of Line 6 at the end of June, ahead of an October target.
—The scale. Billed as the largest urban-mobility project under construction in Latin America, the line runs more than 15km with 15 stations when complete.
—The builder. Spain’s Acciona signed a R$15bn ($2.9bn) contract in 2020 and will both build and operate the line.
—The model. It is the city’s first full public-private partnership, putting construction and decades of operation in one contract.
