Nexus Data Centers has filed to develop its planned data center in Texas.The company recently filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation to develop a data center at 357 HCR 3372 in Hubbard in Hill County.Nexus - Apex DFW HB1 is set to span 491,380 sq ft (45,650 sqm). Construction on the $400 million project is set to run from January 2026 to October 2027.Hubbard is located south of the Dallas-Fort Worth area and northeast of Waco.Nexus Data Centers is a data center developer backed by Transition Equity Partners.News that Nexus was targeting a 600MW natural gas-powered data center in Hubbard surfaced in December.Google is reportedly providing financial backing for the project, which is said to be set to serve Anthropic.Nexus secured two senior secured credit financings for its Nexus Apex Holdings, LLC unit from Eagle Point Credit Management LLC in March to support the development of a 2,900-acre data center and behind-the-meter energy campus.Founded in 2020, Transition Equity Partners (TEP) is a North American mid-market private equity firm specializing in energy transition infrastructure.
