The paintings of Iranian filmmaker Reza Dormishian are set to be showcased in an exhibition titled “Les Réso_nances” at the Oraxe Gallery in Paris. Featuring the works of 25 Iranian artists, the exhibition aims to reflect contemporary voices and perspectives in modern art.

The event will run from June 25 to July 13 in Paris.

Dormishian, widely recognized as an independent filmmaker known for his bold and socially conscious films, has previously had his cinematic works screened at over 100 international film festivals, including the Berlinale, Karlovy Vary, Warsaw, Tokyo, and Shanghai. He has also won various accolades, including the Asia Pacific Screen Award.

Since 2022, following his support for the “Woman, Life, Freedom” protests, he has faced restrictions on his cinematic endeavors and has effectively been barred from continuing his work in cinema. This situation caused his focus to gradually shift toward other artistic fields, including painting.

According to the organizers, Dormishian’s paintings serve as an extension of his cinematic vision, shaped by the same social and visual concerns that define his films.
