Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao on Tuesday alleged that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy were hand in glove to cover up an alleged ₹30,000 crore scam in the Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd (HMRL). He further alleged that Mr. Revanth Reddy and Mr. Kishan Reddy were creating an impression of political differences in Hyderabad while acting in coordination in New Delhi.Addressing party cadres in Serilingampally, Mr. Rama Rao alleged that the Chief Minister was seeking to facilitate the transfer of nearly 250 acres of Metro Rail land to his family members, relatives and close associates. He further accused both leaders of ‘playing theatrics’ over the Metro Rail project.Mr. Rao alleged that the State government had pressured L&T Metro Rail officials and forced them out of Telangana to enable the takeover of Metro assets. He also claimed that the government was planning to shift the Metro Rail’s debt burden of nearly ₹14,000 crore onto the State exchequer in order to gain control of the project’s assets.Stating that the Chief Minister’s recent focus on the Metro Rail project was a pretext for a larger financial irregularity, the BRS leader said his party had consistently exposed alleged scams of the Congress government and was warning the public about another ‘major scam in the making’.He asserted that the public would eventually learn how Metro-linked lands worth ₹30,000 crore were being transferred and who would benefit from these transactions.
