The proceedings are scheduled to resume today, Monday, June 22, 2026.

Human rights activist and African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has arrived at court for the continuation of his trial over remarks in which he described President Bola Tinubu as a "criminal."

The proceedings are scheduled to resume today, Monday, June 22, 2026.

Sowore is facing trial on charges bordering on cyberbullying President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, following a criminal case filed by the Department of State Services (DSS) over his public declaration that “Tinubu is a criminal.”

On Tuesday, June 16, 2026, SaharaReporters reported that Justice Mohammed Garba Umar of the Federal High Court, Abuja, revoked Sowore's bail and ordered the issuance of a bench warrant following the defendant's failure to appear for a scheduled proceeding.
