The Tiruchi Railway Division observed the International Yoga Day on Sunday (June 21, 2026) with mass yoga training sessions organised for officers and staff across various locations of the Division.At Tiruchi, a yoga session under the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing” was conducted for the officers at the Multi Zonal Training Institute under the leadership of the Divisional Railway Manager, Tiruchi Balak Ram Negi. Yoga sessions for staff members and their families were held at the Rail Mahal and the Anglo-Indian School in Tiruchi. Yoga training was conducted by experts from the Art of Living Foundation for an hour. Participants were guided through a series of ‘asanas’ and ‘pranayama’ specially designed to meet the physical and mental demands of railway work. Similar yoga sessions were organised for staff at 13 locations across the Division, including Vriddhachalam, Chidambaram, Kumbakonam, Tiruvannamalai, Villupuram, Thanjavur, Lalgudi, Tiruvarur and Mayiladuthurai.Over 1,000 staff members and their families participated in the events across the Division. By promoting Yoga, the Division aims to enhance the overall well-being of its workforce and contribute to improved service quality for passengers, a press release from the Tiruchi Division said.
