The group, in a statement issued on Saturday and signed by the Head of its National Secretariat, Olawale Okunniyi, warned that the reported incidents threaten the integrity of the electoral process.

The Movement for Credible Elections (MCE) has called for an immediate investigation into allegations of vote-buying, pre-thumbprinted ballot papers, importation of voters, and the distribution of uncollected Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) during the ongoing Ekiti State governorship election.

The group, in a statement issued on Saturday and signed by the Head of its National Secretariat, Olawale Okunniyi, warned that the reported incidents threaten the integrity of the electoral process.

The election monitoring group said that although voting had largely remained peaceful across the state, disturbing reports and videos circulating on social media had raised serious concerns about the credibility of the exercise.

The group commended residents of Ekiti State for what it described as their peaceful conduct and commitment to democratic participation despite allegations of electoral malpractices emerging from several parts of the state.
