Former presidential adviser, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, on Saturday expressed concern over the slow operation of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) at his polling unit.
The former National Assembly member voted at his polling unit in Ereguru, Ward 8, Ado Ekiti, after a brief delay in accreditation caused by the machine’s inability to accredit two earlier voters.
Ojudu, who spoke after casting his vote, expressed worry over the slow pace of accreditation and voting in the Ekiti governorship election, attributing the delays to the BVAS system.
He said, “The turnout of voters is impressive, but the technical glitches associated with the BVAS machine can discourage participation if not urgently addressed by the Independent National Electoral Commission.” Related News #EkitiDecides2026: Oyebanji confident of exceeding 500,000 votes target VIDEO: Ekiti poll peaceful in Ilawe-Ekiti, says physically challenged resident Ekiti 2026: One injured as APC, ADC supporters clash over vote-buying allegations
Ojudu commended the peaceful conduct of voters, particularly the elderly who turned out in large numbers as early as 7 a.m., but lamented that the accreditation process was cumbersome.
