Failure of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) has delayed the conduct of voting in several wards across Ekiti State during the ongoing governorship election.
SaharaReporters observed that the development has led to frustration among voters who turned out to perform their civic responsibilities.
For instance, at Akingbade House in the Okete area of Ekiti West, voters at Polling Unit 016 were left stranded after the BVAS machine malfunctioned. As of the time of filing this report, voters in the area had yet to be fully accredited, preventing them from casting their votes.
Similarly, at Polling Unit 018, Ward 11, along NTA Road, the same issue was recorded after the BVAS machine malfunctioned, causing delays in the accreditation process.
