French midfielder Etienne Camara officially became a Panathinaikos player on Saturday afternoon, marking the club’s first move of the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the Athens soccer club in a transfer reportedly worth just over €4 million from Belgian club Charleroi, which retains a sell-on clause.

Born in Paris with Guinean roots, Camara began his professional career at 18 with English side Huddersfield Town before moving to Udinese. His most recent club was Charleroi, where he spent two seasons, making 85 appearances, scoring two goals and providing five assists.

On the international stage, Camara has represented France at U20 level, including participation in the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina.
